Miriam Meyerhoff is a Senior Research Fellow in Linguistics at All Souls College and Professor of Sociolinguistics. She works mainly on morphosyntactic language variation and change and is particularly interested in the dynamics of variation and change in situations of language contact. She has worked in Vanuatu for over 30 years and has also done research on a Caribbean creole (Bequia), urban migration in New Zealand and the UK, and in a multilingual childcare centre.
